Welcome to Music Steps! We are committed to providing a positive, organized, and professional learning environment for every student. These policies help ensure fairness and consistency for all students, families, and teachers. By enrolling in lessons, you agree to the following policies.

Lesson Schedule

• Your weekly lesson time is reserved exclusively for you.

• Please arrive on time for your scheduled lesson.

• Lessons will end at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival.

• Missed lesson time due to tardiness cannot be made up.

Cancellation & Make-Up Policy

✅ Cancellations with 24+ Hours’ Notice

• Please notify us at least 24 hours before your lesson if you need to cancel or reschedule.

• Your lesson will not be counted.

• Instead, your lesson package will be extended by one week.

• This courtesy is intended for occasional cancellations only. If cancellations become frequent, Music Steps reserves the right to limit or decline additional make-up accommodations.

❌ Cancellations with Less Than 24 Hours’ Notice

• Any cancellation made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be counted as a completed lesson.

• No make-up lesson, lesson credit, or refund will be provided.

• This policy applies regardless of the reason, including:

  • Illness or sickness

  • Family emergencies

  • Medical or dental appointments

  • School events

  • Travel

  • Weather-related personal decisions

  • Any other unforeseen circumstances

Why? Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for you and your teacher. Last-minute cancellations prevent us from offering the time to another student, and teachers are still compensated for their reserved teaching time.

Teacher Cancellations

If Music Steps or your teacher needs to cancel a lesson:

• A make-up lesson or lesson credit will be provided.

Tuition & Payment

• Tuition reserves your weekly lesson time and your teacher’s availability.

• Payment is due according to your selected lesson package.

• All lesson packages are non-refundable once lessons have begun.

• Lesson packages may not be transferred to another student without prior approval from Music Steps.

Practice Expectations

Regular practice is essential for student progress.

Parents of younger students are encouraged to:

• Establish a consistent practice routine.

• Ensure students bring all required books and materials to each lesson.

Respectful Conduct

We strive to maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone.

Students, parents, and guardians are expected to:

• Treat teachers, staff, and other students with respect.

• Care for studio equipment and property.

• Communicate courteously at all times.

Music Steps reserves the right to suspend or discontinue lessons due to repeated policy violations, inappropriate behavior, or disrespectful conduct.

Communication

Please keep your contact information up to date.

Studio announcements, scheduling updates, and important notices will be sent by email, text message, or other official communication methods.

Withdrawal

If you decide to discontinue lessons:

• Please provide as much notice as possible so we can offer your lesson time to another student.

• Unused lessons remaining in a lesson package are non-refundable unless otherwise approved by Music Steps.

Policy Updates

Music Steps reserves the right to update these policies at any time. Enrolled families will be notified of any significant changes.
